Patrick meets Mo!

On Friday morning we played approach & retreat with the halter for nearly an hour- he's super head shy and he had a good reason to be.

Time for his first lesson on being a horse- meeting The Mo. I had put Mo is the arena so he could hang out with Mr Patrick. Mo is confident and marches to the beat of his own drum, so he was perfect. He lets everybody do their right brain thing and he just plays. I led Patrick to the arena, he leads well, even though he was still walking on his tippy-toes, his eyes huge. Took him in the arena (Mo was checking himself out in the mirror) and let him go. Ah, here comes the right brained panicaholic. He tore around the gate at 90 miles an hours. I'm pretty sure he was a barrel racer in a past life cause this guy can turn.

Back and forth, and I didn't even think he noticed Mo until his 50th pass. (Mo had moved on to the pedestal and was watching Patrick with great interest)

When Patrick finally stopped for a minute, Mo sautered over to take a look (probably recruiting him to join a gang and graffiti the fence line)

And then it was... love at first sniff. Patrick followed Mo around like an annoying little brother- not that Mo ever minds an audience.

Patrick got the grand tour- the pedestal, the soccor ball, the barrels, and I even brought the tarp out (Mo's eyes turned dreamy and unfocused at this point- the tarp is his favorite)
